Hello readers,

We are assuming that the previous post which we have posted would be very helpful for you and would be helping I’m you differently for thinking about your life and career.

I m very sure this article would give you a different perspective about internships. Most of the students in India take internships for granted they have never realized the importance of internships. An internship is very useful for the foundation of any career. You can add something extra to your profiles which most of the students neglect.

So to begin with let us understand the meaning of internship first. Because I think that is more important. So internships are created in the organization so that a student or the starting career student can have an idea of how things work in any particular industry. Looking to industries would just give you perks of the organization or industry but the internship will provide you a deeper understanding of work discipline and other elements needed to maintain yourself in a company.

There are two types of internships:

  1. Paid internship: The internships that pay you something in return. And also they give you a chance to go deeper is normally categorized as a paid internship.

  2. Unpaid internship: Those internships which do not pay anything in terms of monetary. Are normally considered an unpaid internship. They just praise you with a certificate.

Both the internships have their importance and you should hesitate to accept the proposal of unpaid internships too. Some companies have their big names in the market providing paid internships.

Is an internship needed?

In my opinion, a big yes, internships are very crucial for building the foundation of your career. The letter of recommendation you have the certificate you achieve and much more makes you more worthy for a job.

So in your college time always try to look for internships. The more you will enroll in an internship the more companies will prefer you. Because taking a fresher and depending on time and money on his training would be costly to the company. Instead of that taking a person who is having a good internship record with reputed brands will be the best option.

The internship also provides you a broader perspective of the industry you are going in. This would give you a chance to make many things and also make relations with the industry people. Later on, these people become very valuable to you in terms of learning and networking too.

As we have discussed earlier also, networking is always helping and will always help you in a lot of terms. So always network people but not for your personal growth and making out something from that person. You should network with genuine people and let them have your trust.

Working always makes people more skilled and more intelligent. Of course, the books you read in college will help you a lot in terms of getting good grades and getting a good placement. But later on, internship learning will make you worthy of a job.

Let us understand this with some examples if you want to start a career in the hospitality industry it would be better to take an internship in hotels for a month after your first year or on vacation. This would give you a brief idea of how the hotels work and these are going all through. Later on, if you have a chance take internship for 6 months. This would make you more accountable for a company later on. You do not have to rush for the big brands or big 5 star hotels. You can just have a simple brand with a good identity in the market. Completing your internship with a 4-star hotel would also not make any harm to you. Important here is you have experience.

If you are an engineering student so in your vacation try working with a small firm and gain some experience. Once you add these things to your resume it will make you stand out from others.

What would be the benefits of the internship?

This is an important question and we are revolving around this topic in the whole blog post. But to look closer we can simply list down the benefits of internships.

  • It helps in gaining experience.

  • It makes your resume stand out from a fresher.

  • It makes you more accountable for the company as you are already quite aware of the process and things of a particular industry.

  • If you are considering a career change then first try to grab some knowledge and try to take an internship about that career. Slowly when you will perform well the company can provide you the offer letter. And hence you are done.

  • Internship sometimes makes your job confirm. When you do good in a company or organization they simply provide you an offer letter to join when you complete your course.

These are some of the most important benefits of internships.
